San Francisco
Meditation and Run – Golden Gate Park
The workshop begins with a grounding mindfulness meditation to settle the energy and focus attention. Participants will learn how to direct awareness without gripping too tightly, connecting directly to sensations as they arise. After centering the mind, attention shifts to the body through exercises designed to awaken balance and proprioception. The session concludes with a 6 mile run through Golden Gate Park, where participants can integrate these practices — bringing presence, ease, and curiosity into motion.
Running mindfully is about being present and fully attuned to the sensations of movement. It offers a way to find deeper enjoyment in running, experience greater benefits from the practice, and even explore higher performance. Rather than viewing running and meditation as the same, this workshop treats them as complementary practices — each enhancing the other. While running naturally brings awareness to the present moment, meditation helps cultivate the mental conditions that make that awareness more accessible.
