Touching Sound, Hearing Form
Step into an immersive listening experience led by Oakland artist Christopher Martin, where sound becomes both material and landscape. This workshop invites you to slow down, tune in, and discover how vibration, silence, and resonance shape the spaces around and within us. Through Martin’s unique audio-sensory practice, participants will be guided into a tonal environment that blurs the line between sculpture and sound—where listening transforms into touch, and rhythm becomes form.
The goal is not only deep relaxation, but also heightened awareness: a chance to experience sound as a living, sculptural force that connects body, memory, and environment. Come ready to explore the unseen contours of sound and leave with a renewed sense of presence and possibility.

About
Christopher Martin is a multidisciplinary artist based in Oakland whose practice spans sculpture, sewing, tattoo-art, poetry, and sound. Rooted in both his Southern heritage and urban surroundings, his work carries a language of distilled symbolism and minimal contrasts, allowing each medium to speak with clarity and depth.
Extending this approach into sound, Martin’s audio-sensory practice explores rhythm, silence, and tonal resonance as sculptural elements. He treats tone as texture and vibration as form, creating immersive environments that heighten awareness and blur the line between perception and presence. His work invites participants into spaces where listening becomes a tactile and transformative experience.
