Annex House - Chinese Fermentation + Dumplings Workshop
An evening Series of Traditional Chinese Cooking
Join Jess Wang of Picklé Pickle Co. and Gu Grocery for a fermentation and cooking series. Learn how to preserve mustard greens and cabbage the traditional Chinese way in the first session, and join the second session for a dumpling party using the ferments made in the first workshop.
- Session 1: Introduction to Chinese Fermentation - Learn two live pickling techniques to add health benefits, fun, and extra flavor to your home cooking. Customize your pickles with a variety of farm fresh cabbages, mustard greens and aromatics. These pickles make a wonderful addition to any meal and can be used as an ingredient.
- Session 2: Traditional Gluten Free Tangyuan Dumpling Soup - In this workshop we will prepare savory sticky rice dumplings and a rich broth. Pickles prepared in the first session will be featured in the dumpling filling. Choice of vegan pumpkin + mushroom dumplings (vegan), and chicken + mushroom. This session includes a full meal experience. Participants may also opt to take their dumplings home for later.
Note: Both workshops are gluten free and vegan, with a non-vegan option in the second session. Joining both sessions is optional.
