Gorp Girls Big Pine Lakes Fly Fishing Trip

Fly Fishing Camp Trip with Gorp Girls

Experience fly fishing the Eastern Sierra’s in streams and alpine lakes on this two night camp trip near Big Pine creek. The group campsite is situated near a creek to practice skills such as reading water, identifying “fishy spots," and technical casting. After an awesome hike we will experience fishing alpine lakes where we can practice setting hooks, netting fish, releasing fish, and tying on new flies so you can feel confident fly fishing on your own. Usal fly fishing guide Sam Reese is donating guiding services to allow us to learn fly fishing in this amazing location.

Itinerary

We’ll kick off the weekend by arriving at our group campsite near Big Pine Creek in the afternoon. Once everyone settles in and sets up their tents, we’ll gather for introductions and a fly fishing gear overview led by our guide, Sam Reese. From there, we’ll dive into our first hands-on lesson—practicing casting and reading the water in the nearby creek and pond. The day will wind down with dinner prep and a relaxing evening around the fire, getting to know one another and soaking in the beautiful mountain setting.
