Join us for a feel-good, sun-soaked day on the trails. This co-ed hike is about building confidence, connecting with nature, meeting new friends, and enjoying the experience of moving together—regardless of hiking experience. About

Jess Cooper is an avid backpacker, trail runner, and outdoor enthusiast who’s happiest on dirt trails in big mountains. She’s thru-hiked the Pacific Crest Trail and the Lowest to Highest Route, capturing her experiences and adventures through photography. With a background in Environmental Science and Conservation, she’s passionate about helping others connect with the outdoors and believes that experiencing wild spaces firsthand is key to protecting them.
As a backcountry guide, she combines practical experience with boundless enthusiasm for nature and people, creating meaningful and memorable trips for those she leads.

Group Stretch & Meet-Up

Start the morning with a group gathering and light stretching session at the trailhead to get warmed up and connected.

Guided Group Hike

Enjoy a group-led trek up Strawberry Peak at a steady, inclusive pace with support from Usal and Gorp Girls team leads.

Nature Education

Learn about the local ecosystems, native species, and how these mountains connect to the surrounding urban landscape.

Scenic Summit Lunch

Soak in panoramic views at the summit and enjoy a bring-your-own packed lunch together before the descent.

Community Connection

Spend quality time with fellow hikers, meet new faces, and be part of a welcoming outdoor community.

What to Bring

  • Water – Stay hydrated during the hike, minimum 2L of water
  • Sunscreen – Protect your skin under the sun
  • Snacks – Keep your energy up along the way
  • Packed lunch – Something simple to enjoy at the summit (sandwiches work great!)
  • Small backpack – To carry everything comfortably
  • Layers – Mornings can be cool even on sunny day
