Peacekeeper Projects was established by woodworker Kyle Richard Hamon as a means to house the diverse nature of his work. Kyle integrates his deep-rooted appreciation for DIY culture into his self-taught woodworking practice. His work spans from sculptural furniture and homeware to distinctive art framing. Eschewing repetitive design methods, each piece exists as a one-of-a-kind, meticulously produced object, hand-made in his studio in Los Angeles, California.


what's included
- Introduction to Wood & Tools – We’ll start with a brief lesson on wood selection, understanding grain direction and wood properties, and the essential tools used in spoon carving.
- Techniques & Tips – Learn proper knife grips, carving strokes, and ways to work with (not against) the wood’s natural properties. We’ll go over key safety techniques to ensure a fun and injury-free experience.
- Hands-On Carving – Step-by-step guidance as you shape your spoon, from drawing out your shape to roughing out the form to refining details. You’ll get plenty of hands-on time with your tools!
- Sanding & Finishing – Once your spoon takes shape, we’ll go over smoothing techniques and natural finishing options to bring out the beauty of the wood.
- Wrap-Up & Take-Home Piece – You’ll leave with your own handcrafted spoon, a deeper appreciation for the craft, and the skills to continue carving on your own!
