Los Angeles
Creative Writing with Sian Camille & Yujin Studios
This workshop invites writers to dwell in the places where language falters—where feelings, intuitions, and states of being resist definition. Inspired by the mystical and elliptical prose of Clarice Lispector, we will explore writing as a tool not to describe experience but to invoke it. The gathering begins with ceremonial matcha lattes from Yujin Studios, setting the tone for a mindful and intentional experience. We’ll start with a short guided lesson on craft, offering insights to deepen your understanding of creative writing.

About
Sian Camille is a Los Angeles-based writer and creative writing instructor. Last year, she published her debut poetry book, Talking with My Angels in the Bathtub. Driven by a desire to transform writing from a solitary practice into a communal experience, Sian founded Where We Meet. This monthly writing group offers writers of all levels and backgrounds a dedicated space for their craft, an opportunity to share their work, and a thoughtfully curated environment to connect with fellow creatives. Each workshop explores a unique theme, with prompts and readings designed to spark imagination and empower artistic expression.
WHAT'S INCLUDED

We’ll begin by reading a selection of Clarice Lispector’s work aloud—touching the lyrical, the strange, the revelatory. - A Brief Craft Exploration
A short lesson on how Lispector uses fragmentation, interiority, and language-as-feeling to write what cannot be said. - Guided Writing Session (45 minutes)
You’ll receive a series of intuitive, logic-defying writing prompts designed to open up new pathways into the inexpressible. Write without overthinking. Follow sensation, image, sound. - Sharing Circle
An optional opportunity to share your writing in a supportive, reflective space.

- Ceremonial-grade matcha from Yujin Studios
