Where chess meets the dance Floor
SSICC is throwing their monthly party where they bring lovers of dance music and chess alike to get together, scored by a lineup of vinyl DJs. This event has travelled from Toronto to Paris and London in the last year.
The event’s casual nature is reminiscent of a house party, with some people choosing to dance, while others hang out around our custom chess boards.

- The evening begins with a relaxed reception hour, creating space for everyone to mingle, sip, and settle in. Good Boy Wines will be providing some of our favorite wine selections.
- After the first hour, the music, takes center stage as our lineup of vinyl-only DJs step up for rotating one-hour set. Each brings their own flavor, creating a soundtrack moving the energy from a background groove to a full-on dance energy depending on where you choose to spend your time.
About
S.S.I.C.C. is an ongoing event series started by Toronto clothing brands Shirley Company and Secretaries. Set to a backdrop of dynamic house music, guests are welcome to challenge each other to matches of chess.
Independently, both Secretaries and Shirley Company host numerous events throughout the year, ranging from club nights to jazz nights to coffee shop takeovers.
Shirley Company is a clothing and accessory brand that launched in 2022 with an emphasis on unique takes on ivy styles. We tie our brand into our taste in a myriad of spaces from food and wine to disco music.
Secretaries is a menswear brand founded by Parker Murchison on the principle of bringing romance back to the dancefloor. We use nightlife as a canvas to tell stories about human connections, and our products are designed to support the journey to developing relationships.
