Get ready for a Vietnamese‑Cajun seafood cookout that feels like a family house party—laid‑back, abundant, and built around the joy of eating together. Mr. Jong is rolling out the butcher paper, pouring out the crab boil straight onto the table, and everyone diving in together. A fresh boil drops every 30 minutes from 4PM until 9PM (or until we run out). We'll also have some mahjong tables set out for y'all.
This cookout is a watering hole for everyone — a place where backgrounds blur, flavors unite, and community forms around shared food. It doesn’t matter where you come from; everyone eats from the same spread, the same boil, the same source. We're ready to be outside with some delicious food, family, and the simple joy of eating together.

Mr. Jong is a Los Angeles-based dinner series led by four close friends dedicated to building community through culture. Rooted in their shared Asian heritage, they specialize in Taiwanese and Vietnamese cuisine, always served family-style.
As self-described "third culture kids," the team behind Mr. Jong cooks from the heart, honoring where they come from while progressing forward. They believe deeply in the collective power of community, bringing people together over shared meals and creating spaces where friends old and new can experience life together. Whether they are throwing a backyard boil, a burger pop-up, or a multi-course dinner, Mr. Jong is at its best when surrounded and supported by friends.
