This is the Place Group Bike Ride
Gravity Car: Up the incline
Join us on a celebration of redwood forests, climbing up and spring. This route is best suited to intermediate to advanced cyclists with experience riding in groups, riding off-road on dirt and gravel, 70% road 30% trail. Expect 40 miles, 4,000 ft., and about 3-4 hours of riding. Start and End at The Last Straw in the Outer Sunset. Bring water, snacks, and a relaxed attitude.

The Ride
This ride will feature views on the Pacific Ocean and greenery heading towards and partially up Mt. Tamalpais.
We will meet at The Last Straw and roll out at 9am, please plan to arrive 20-30 minutes early to check in.
The route will take us out of the city, across the bridge and up Railroad Grade to the West Point Inn. We will be climbing on dirt fire roads, gravel bikes and/or higher volume tires recommended. We will be defending on road.
This ride will be no drop but we will be speedier to cover more distance. All are welcome but this ride is best for intermediate to advanced skill levels.


What To Bring
Riders should have:
- 10–12 months of riding experience on local trails in the Headlands or Mount Tam
- A capable bike with at least 32mm tires (bigger is better)
- Food, tools, and supplies to stay self-supported throughout the ride
- All riders must sign a waiver prior to participation.

Start at The Last Straw, GGB, Mill Valley, Railroad Grade (dirt fire road), West Point Inn, Pantoll Campground, Down Panoramic Highway, Down Shoreline, Sausalito Mill Valley Path, GGB, back to TLS
42 miles, 4000 ft elevation, 3-4 hours, no drop but elongated group, bail outs at GGB, Mill Valley, West Point Inn. Please be mindful of horses, hikers and other riders. Ride single file on road sections. Call out when passing. This is a no drop ride, we will have multiple ride leaders/special guests, TBA.
