Event Information
We’ll be guided by Anna Wolfe-Pauly along a two mile hike where we’ll engage in a deep listening score together— tuning in the natural soundscapes and our participation in them. As a group, we’ll settle at the edge of a meadow and the musicians Mikey Maleki and Elias FS will join us for an ambient improvisational woodwind performance in response to the songs of birds, insects, and prompts from Anna. This exploration of acoustic ecology will be participatory for the group, a personal and collective dialog with the site.
We’ll meet at the Bear Valley Visitors Center at 11am and the round trip should be about 3 hours (1 hour in, 1 hour session + snack, 1 hour out). The hike is two miles each way with a light ascent (1,100’ of gain) on the way up. Open to all ages.
