New York
Usal Hike Club - Bull's Bridge
Step Into Spring
An invitation to unfurl from winter and ease back into the rhythm of the trail. Led by educator and farmer Katina Leier, this hike moves at a more intentional pace—part hike, part field study—where attention shifts toward early growth, changing landscapes, and the relationships shaping the land beneath your feet.
We’ll travel 4 miles out and back with 800–1,000 ft of elevation gain at a moderate effort, pausing along the way to learn, observe, and take in a midday break with river views.

About
Katina Leier is a New York City–based educator and farmer working at the intersection of ecology, culture, and care. Through her work with City Parks Foundation and across green spaces from Alaska to D.C., she teaches food justice and land-based practices rooted in both scientific and lived knowledge—grounded in the belief that landscapes are living, not passive.
On the trail, Katina guides a slower way of moving. Through walking, storytelling, and observation, participants begin to notice what’s already there—the plants, patterns, and relationships that shape the land—and leave with a shifted way of seeing.
