San Francisco
Usal Hike Club – Full Moon Exploration
On the Eve of the Full moon
An urban ecological hike to explore the sights, sounds, and scents of San Francisco at night. As the sun sets and the full moon rises over the city, we are invited to notice the changing light, return of nocturnal friends, and stillness of nature.
We will link iconic urban view points Mount Sutro & Twin Peaks to get closer to the stars and (on a clear night) get an amazing sight of the moon.

ABOUT
Michael Rasmussen is a park ranger and environmental educator with a background in urban ecology and environmental studies. His work focuses on fostering connection between people and place, helping communities understand the complex relationships between city landscapes and the natural systems that sustain them.

All participants will be given a KNOG headlamp to use for hiking after sunset. We will meet in front of the coffee kiosk at the eastern edge of Golden Gate Park, and set out on a 4.5 mile loop with roughly 800 feet of elevation gain.
Our pace will be accommodating for all skill levels.
