Usal × Walmart – Nature Walk: Learning Plant IDs

Come touch grass with us.

Usal and Walmart are teaming up to bring more of what you love to city parks. We're tapping into Walmart Delivers, their newest campaign bringing a fleet of immersive delivery trucks across the country — each designed to help level up what you love.
And when Walmart Delivers pulls up with your nature break, Usal will be there too, hosting free community programming that gets you outside, connects you with others, and celebrates the parks that make our cities thrive.
As part of the activation, you’ll discover your park “persona” and get a kit of essentials that fits your style of park life—whether that’s stretching out in the sun, showing up fully stocked, or walking with friends.
Your park day begins at the Walmart Delivers truck: the hub for everything you need to kick off time outside, stocked with gear, connection, and inspiration. Come explore with us! Check out walmart-delivers.com to learn more about the full Walmart Delivers tour.

Event Description

Step into Central Park for an immersive plant identification walk led by Katina Leier, whose path to agriculture and education has been a gentle unfolding across landscapes and cultures. From the fields of Atlanta to the rugged expanses of Alaska, Katina has managed farms in diverse climates, gaining deep knowledge of how plants grow, heal, and nourish across different environments.
On this walk, she’ll share her insights into local plant life—teaching participants how to recognize species, understand their roles in ecosystems, and appreciate their cultural and medicinal significance. With a focus on cross-cultural approaches to healing and eating, Katina’s guidance offers both practical knowledge and a fresh perspective on how plants connect us to place and to each other. This experience is designed for anyone curious about the natural world—from beginner foragers to seasoned nature enthusiasts—inviting us all to look more closely at the greenery that surrounds us every day.
