San Francisco
Visible Mending Workshop
Soft Wear Patch Workshop
Join Idle Worship — a San Francisco–based craft studio rooted in community, collaboration, and fabric innovation — for an immersive workshop celebrating the beauty of repair. What began as a small “dyer for hire” project has evolved into a full-fledged practice of reimagining materials and honoring the stories they carry.
This hands-on session explores the Japanese tradition of sashiko and the art of visible mending — a slow, intentional approach to stitching that embraces imperfection and longevity. The evening will open with a short presentation on the history and philosophy of sashiko, followed by a live demonstration and guided stitching session where participants will learn foundational techniques to repair and embellish their own garments.
All supplies will be provided, and no prior sewing experience is needed. Come ready to slow down, connect with your materials, and rediscover the value in keeping what you love alive through your own hands.
